WHAT IS MEDIATION?
Mediation is a formal process that empowers and facilitates interested parties to resolve disputes out of the courtroom and into a private, calm and professional environment. Mediation has no public record, legal formalities, or adversarial pressures. The process is voluntary, confidential and can be terminated at any time.
Upon agreement, all records are destroyed and mediators cannot be called to testify. The Alternative Dispute Resolution process is an advanced communication format that allows you to freely express your point of view through a focused and formal discussion. Our mediators use expert listening to understand your point of view and to then facilitate greater understanding of our own and others’ perspectives. Our professional staff provide structure and expert guidance to assist you in your confidential and private matters.

MEDIATION PROCESS
The mediation process informal and allows the flexibility to resolve disputes. Our staff mediator will be present, and our role is to guide both parties toward a resolution that both can agree on. Mediation happens in several stages designed to help gain a perspective of both sides, which include joint sessions and individual sessions.
Mediation starts with a session, including both parties, so that the agenda and ground rules can be set. The first joint session also defines the disputes or issues at hand and determines the position of each party. During the process, our trained staff carry messages between sides such as demands, proposals, offers, counteroffers, and questions. Once all information has been shared, both parties can choose to either settle or have an impasse where other means may be pursued.
